Today is the birthday of Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth president of the United States. What do you really know about the man whose face is carved into Mount Rushmore and rendered on the United States penny?

Most people remember the Lincoln who steered the country through a bloody civil war, freed millions of slaves by signing the Emancipation Proclamation, delivered the Gettysburg Address and was felled at age 56 by an assassin’s bullet in 1865.

But there is even more to this American icon : his youth,  his early career, his marriage, the joys and sorrows of fatherhood…
