At MidPointe Library, our appreciation of local authors goes well beyond furnishing writing and publishing aids!
We like to think that local authors have found a home at MidPointe! It’s a great place to do research utilizing thousands of on-shelf items as well as a vast collection of e-material available at:
www.midpointelibrary.org > eLibrary > Research databases
Local authors also utilize MidPointe as a convenient gathering place to share ideas, advice and concerns. Meeting rooms can be reserved at:
www.midpointelibrary.org > Services > Meeting Rooms.
Local authors like to see and hear other authors during special guest appearances at MidPointe. Whether they’re giving advice to would-be writers or talking about their latest novel or non-fiction work, these published, literary talents are worth anyone’s precious time! And, like all MidPointe activities, the programs are free and open to the public.
Equally popular is MidPointe’s ReadLOCAL event which gives the public a chance to greet and meet local authors. Our last ReadLOCAL was a booklover’s dream with authors representing fiction and non-fiction for all ages. Another ReadLOCAL will be presented at a future date, organizers said.
MidPointe also profiles one local author per month (schedule may vary) on its Facebook page and accompanying blog. Readers learn about the author’s background, their inspirations, writing and publishing routines and more. To learn about the creative individuals we’ve featured so far, go to MidPointe’s Facebook page and/or blog :
