Country’s a-comin’ and you better get a move-on to MidPointe Library!

Starting this Wednesday, September 4, MidPointe Library will preview segments of the highly anticipated PBS documentary “Country Music – A Film By Ken Burns,” at three of its locations!

The previews are free and open to the public, announced Martha Matthews, Adult Programming Coordinator.

Local country-music fans (who may fondly recall the foot-stomping sounds and the heartfelt ballads on Middletown’s WPFB-AM radio station) are invited to the previews on the following Wednesdays:

September 4 – 7 p.m. at MidPointe-West Chester, 9363 Centre-Pointe Drive.

September 11 – 7 p.m. at MidPointe-Middletown, 125 South Broad Street.

October 9 – 6:30 p.m. at MidPointe-Trenton, 200 Edgewood Drive.

The complete “Country Music” series will debut on local Public Broadcasting TV stations September 15-18 and 22-25.

With a sizeable segment of Appalachian descendants, Southwest Ohio has been home to many a country-music fan. However, “country’s” popularity has soared, claiming fans of all ages, locations and heritages.

Enjoy images of this area’s long love affair with country music! They and many more like the one above can be found in MidPointe Library’s Digital Archives:
