It’s Sunday, September 8 -- “National Grandparents Day”!

This book and many others are available from the MidPointe collection. Little ones love to read with (and about!) grandparents and other family members!

Promoted by the organization, “Generations United,” this special day encourages “grandparents and older adults to share their wisdom, perspective and key civic values with young people...Celebrate Grandparents Day by committing to do something grand!” * 

The special day took root in 1978, when “...the United States Congress passed legislation proclaiming the first Sunday after Labor Day as National Grandparents Day. A presidential proclamation was signed by President Jimmy Carter and thus began the observation of this special holiday...” * 

The love and life lessons imparted by Grandma, Grandpa and other older adults remain with us throughout our lives.  

Hopefully we, too, will be able to share our values with a new generation.
