#TriviaTuesday - All About Innovation Pointe!

Today, #TriviaTuesday, we share fun facts about a few of the marvelous “maker” machines you’ll find in our new Innovation Pointe makerspace at MidPointe Library West Chester.

Its grand opening will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 5. And you’re invited!

We think of our makerspace as literally a “Do-it-Yourself" learning center where patrons of any experience level can gain practical skills through hands-on learning. This fulfills our mission: “Enriching our community through access and experience,” thus allowing “patrons to make, explore, and tinker.”

In anticipation of the grand opening, John Burns, Innovation Pointe Makerspace Specialist, shared fun facts about a few of the “Makerspaces”:

Roland Vinyl Printer - free to use and patrons only pay for consumables!

“Our heaviest piece of equipment, coming in at a whopping 397 pounds (180 kg), is the Roland Vinyl Printer. It can print 1 foot of 54-inch banner in 3 minutes!

“Then there’s the Prusa 3D printer that can print a solid 2”x2” cube in 58 minutes.

“Our Fast Foto 680W Rapid scanner can scan a 4” x 6” photo at 300 dpi (dots per inch) in one second flat!

“Our Epilog laser with a huge 12”x24” print bed that can precisely cut wood up to ¼” thick!”
