“An education is not so much about making a living as making a person.”
What did you find intriguing about this book?
Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom in 2003. Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education. As a way out, Tara began to educate herself, learning enough mathematics and grammar to be admitted to Brigham Young University and beyond. It's incredible to believe that in today’s world this could happen. But it did. A fascinating story of an almost unbelievable life.
